  1. according to the internet it takes 7 to 10 years for them to bloom the first time and then they can bloom every few years or not for another 10 years, I think 40 is a bit of a stretch. Also you’re missing the main fact, that it smells like rotting meat- which I see has been pointed out.

  2. #It blooms every 7-10 years

    Stop spreading bullshit u/ethan_kahn .

#*In cultivation, the titan arum generally requires 7–10 years of vegetative growth before blooming for the first time. After its initial blooming, there can be considerable variation in blooming frequency. Some plants may not bloom again for another 7–10 years while others may bloom every two to three years.[14] There have also been documented cases of back-to-back blooms occurring within a year*

  3. I worked in a downtown flower store many years ago and one day this plant showed up out of nowhere. My girlfriend, whom I saved from an abusive relationship with a sadistic dentist, wandered too close to it and fell inside it and died. That sucked.

  4. Im laughing so hard! Is this how people get reddit karma? Stealing googles main picture for this flower, and not even explaining the best thing about this wonderful plant? Like does anyone make their own content anymore, or is it all just pictures stolen from google?

  5. I may not have read every single comment, but I am surprised no one has mentioned the Simpsons episode this plant was in. All the references to Dennis the menace, a movie I saw once 20 or more years ago, but no Simpsons reference. Oh well.
